The "TIES" have it!

Our first project in art history, formally known as Art I was to study the artwork of Peter Max. The 8th hour class took his work one step further and created ties in his style. Pretty Cool outcome!

I had to write and send you a "thanks" for sharing about the tie project. I just finished a "Ties to Art History" with 2 of my classes, and loved witnessing their creating these funky paintings! From the challenge of learning how to knot a tie, to deciding which artist they wanted to research, it was engaging and held challenges along every step!

I am so glad! My kids had a ball with it too! The funny thing about this project is that it was the first one of the school year and we had not received any of our art supplies yet. I was trying to figure out what we were going to use as a "canvas" and remembered that a long time ago we had made paper ties in a middle school class I was teaching, so during my plan I made a quick trip to the goodwill and there you have it! I am getting ready to check your blog and see it you have pictures and if not get those things posted, lol! I can't wait!
